The Lisbon Food Tour is a unique gastronomical and cultural journey across Lisbon, to discover the city through its recipes and commensality. Along the way, we will taste local dishes, snacks or what locals call “petiscos”. Besides, we’ll get a taste of the extravagant cuisines that in recent times have influenced not only the gastronomic culture, but the societal environment as well.
Our guides will introduce you to the main areas of Lisbon, starting from Rossio, in the heart of the city. From there, we are going to explore the three main blocks of the historical center: Baixa Pombalina, Mouraria, and Alfama. Our job is to entertain the tour while sharing details and curiosities about History, culture, traditions, and the changes that the city has seen for hundreds of years, some of them still happening.
Oh but let’s not forget, everyone is here for the food and drinks, which will be plenty, so please come with an empty stomach!
We will visit restaurants, bars and local taverns while we share stories and anecdotes about the food, wine and its traditions. Overall we are going to be immersed in the environment, interacting with Lisbon as a local, enjoying the company and having fun!

I am Samuel, born and raised in Mexico, an enthusiast of food, flavors, traveling and getting to know other cultures; in other words, a foodie and a traveler.
I am a Biologist and Social Scientist. During my career I had the opportunity to live in São Paulo, Brazil, where my interest and proximity with Portuguese culture woke up. After that, I moved to Lisbon to continue my academic paths. Then I fell in love with this city, its stories, its corners, its hidden treasures, some of them at plain sight!
With the combination of my academic background, my passion for Portuguese culture and gastronomy, and also my love for History, I decided to take a little turn on my career. I started to work for some tourism agencies, making scripts and doing walking tours. Then, designing and organizing gastronomic experiences, and now this is my full time occupation, and I cannot love it more.

The tour is 3.5h, we will make 4-5 stops, with walks of 15-20 min in between.
Depending on the mobility issues, we can use alternative paths that make it less complicated to move around. However, this experience is NOT suitable for wheelchairs.
Lisbon is commonly known as the city of the seven hills, well… There are eight hills actually, and it’s inevitable to catch one of them. But worry not, the area that we cover does not have very steep hills, and trust that we will ensure a right pace for everyone to feel comfortable.
Yes, we will have tastings that include liqueurs/wine. To participate in this, guests must be 18y/o. However, it is possible to change these drinks for non-alcoholic ones.
